Guardian Permission Agreement
Official version 1, not reviewed by a lawyer. Rejects Esports LLC wrote this page in plain words from how Round One really works. It is in effect as written, but a lawyer has not reviewed it yet, and we may update it after that review. It is not legal advice.
This agreement is between Rejects Esports LLC ("Round One", "we") and the parent or legal guardian ("you") of a player aged 13 to 15 (the "Child") who wants to use Round One Network (round-one.net). The Child's account stays locked until you approve it. Please read this before you approve.
About this agreement
- Rejects Esports LLC wrote this agreement itself, in plain language, from how Round One and TradeBack really work. This agreement has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. We plan to have it reviewed, and we may update it after that review. Any change follows the rules for changes in this agreement.
- This agreement is still our official version and is in effect as written.
- Nothing in this agreement, or anything else we publish, is legal advice to you. If you need legal advice, ask your own lawyer.
- If a court finds that any part of this agreement cannot be enforced as written, that part is applied as far as the law allows, and the rest still applies.
- Nothing in this agreement takes away a right that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be given up by agreement.
- If something here is unclear, ask us at rejectsesportsbusiness@gmail.com before you rely on your own reading.
What parents should know
- Round One is a site for Rainbow Six Siege teams. Players join teams, play scrims (practice matches) and events (leagues and tournaments), and talk in match chats. Round One does not sell or give out the game. Whether the Child plays Rainbow Six Siege itself is your choice: the ESRB rates it M (Mature 17+), and Ubisoft has its own account rules.
- You approve or say no. The Child cannot use Round One until you approve from the link we emailed you. Approval is needed until the Child turns 16. You can take your approval back at any time.
- What others can see: the Child's display name, team and competition results and stats. People who are not signed in cannot see the Child's picture, banner, bio, links, linked Ubisoft name, region, peak rank, roles or Looking for team state; those are shown to signed-in members only. Search engines are asked not to list the Child's profile. The Child's age is never shown.
- Chat: there are no private messages on Round One. The Child can chat in match and scrim rooms with their team, the other team, and the event's organizer and moderators.
- Discord: many teams use Discord. Adults on Round One may not seek private contact with a minor they do not know anywhere except Discord, which has its own safety tools. We suggest you set up Discord's Family Center and its safety settings for the Child. When the Child links Discord, our bot adds them to the Round One Discord server, and when their team plays in an event whose organizer connected a league Discord server, the bot adds them to that server automatically, the same as adult players, for the private match chat and team voice. If the organizer turns on team roles, the bot adds them as soon as their team is approved into the event and gives them a role with their team's name, which everyone on that server can see and which stays there after the event unless the server's admins remove it. That server belongs to the organizer, not to Round One. The organizer and its server staff must follow the Organizer Agreement, the Event and Org Staff Agreement and our Community and Safety Rules there, including the rule against seeking private contact with players under 18. The Child can leave any server at any time, and you can report anything that worries you at round-one.net/report. The bot does not send the Child notifications as Discord direct messages until the Child turns them on in Settings.
- Streams: event matches may be streamed by casters, showing the Child's in-game name and gameplay. Team voice chat is never broadcast.
- Anti-cheat: in event matches (not scrims), every player must run MOSS, an anti-cheat program that records the screen, running programs and inputs during the match.
- Money: Round One itself is free. Approving the account does not approve any purchase or entry fee.
- Safety: every page has a Report link, our chats block slurs automatically, and only adult staff can see reports and evidence.
Who can approve
- You must be the Child's parent or legal guardian, 18 or older, with the legal right to make this decision for the Child. Step-parents without legal custody, older siblings, coaches, team captains and friends cannot approve.
- One parent or guardian approves each Child's account. That person is the parent or guardian on record.
- By approving, you confirm these things are true. Approving for a child who is not yours, or pretending to be a parent, breaks our Terms of Service.
How approval works
- The Child makes an account. Sign-up asks for their birth month and year first. Under 13 cannot sign up. The Child's account is locked from the start.
- The Child enters your email address. It must be your own email, not the Child's, and it cannot belong to another Round One player under 18. The Child only sees it masked.
- We email you a link that works once, for 7 days.
- On the page, you type your full name, choose Parent or Legal guardian, confirm you are 18 or older and the Child's parent or legal guardian, confirm you have read this agreement, and then approve or say no.
- If you approve, the account unlocks. If you say no, it stays locked.
We may ask you to confirm your approval again with a stronger check, for example a small card check that is refunded right away, if the law requires it or if we have doubts.
What your approval covers
By approving, you agree that the Child may use Round One under our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Community and Safety Rules, and you agree to them for the Child. That includes:
- Account and profile: a player profile, joining and making teams, scrims, events, Match Rooms and rankings.
- Chat: match and scrim room chat, as described above.
- Streams: appearing in event match streams and recordings (in-game name and gameplay), which casters may run. Any player can ask to be put on our No-stream list from their Settings.
- MOSS and PC checks: running MOSS in event matches, keeping its files for 1 week after each event, and uploading them when a moderator asks. A moderator may ask for a live PC check (a screen share) to rule on a cheating case. For players under 18, a PC check always has two adult Round One staff present, you may join it, and it is never recorded unless the Child agrees.
- Rules and penalties: the Child must follow the rules. If the Child is banned, the public ban list shows only the Child's display name and the type of ban.
What your approval does not cover
- No purchases. Your approval does not approve any purchase, subscription or payment.
- Paid events. Some events charge an entry fee. Those are run by independent organizers, who are solely responsible for asking your permission before the Child pays or wins a prize. Round One does not check or enforce that and takes no responsibility for it.
- TradeBack. The Child can be a coach or player on a TradeBack team (our team stats tool) only if an adult buys the subscription. The adult buyer is responsible for that purchase.
- Promotion. We never use anyone under 18 in our promotion: no name, face, voice, clip or picture.
- In-person events. Round One does not run or supervise in-person events. If the Child goes to one in person, that is your decision as the parent, and supervision and venue safety are for you and the event's organizer.
- Not a waiver. This agreement is not a waiver or release of any legal claim you or the Child may have.
What we keep about you
- Your email address, your full name, whether you are the parent or legal guardian, the date and time you approved, said no or withdrew, the version of this agreement you accepted, and the method (emailed link).
- Only the owners and Round One admins can see this record. Organizers and other players never see it.
- We keep it for 6 years after the Child's account ends, as proof of permission. When the account ends, the record moves to a closed archive that no page can open, and it is deleted after the 6 years. An approval request nobody answered is deleted with the Child's account.
What you can do
- Approve or say no from the emailed link.
- Withdraw your approval at any time: ask for a manage link on round-one.net/guardian (it works for 48 hours), or email rejectsesportsbusiness@gmail.com from the email you approved with. The account locks at once. If it is still locked after 7 days, the Child is also taken off upcoming event rosters. Deleting the account is a separate step.
- Ask for the Child's data, or for it to be deleted: email rejectsesportsbusiness@gmail.com from the email you approved with, with the Child's display name and team. These steps are also in the first email we send you. We answer within 30 days.
What we tell you
We email you, at the address you approved with:
- if the Child's account is suspended or banned, with the reason; and
- when the Child turns 16: your approval then ends automatically and your links stop working. Players aged 16 and 17 use Round One without a parent's approval, and keep every protection we give players under 18.
We do not tell you automatically about reports made by or about the Child. Our safety staff decide case by case, because a household member could be involved.
Support
Email rejectsesportsbusiness@gmail.com. We answer parents within 3 business days, and urgent safety matters first. We are not an emergency service: if the Child is in danger, call 911 first. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988 in the United States or 9-8-8 in Canada.
Changes to this agreement
If we change this agreement in a way that matters, we email you and ask you to approve the new version. The Child's account keeps working for 30 days while we wait, and locks if you have not approved by then. A small change, such as a typo fix, does not need a new approval.
Law
Ohio law governs this agreement, but it does not take away any protection that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be waived. Disputes follow the Terms of Service: talk to us first, then small claims court, then the courts of Clermont County, Ohio.
Email rejectsesportsbusiness@gmail.com. Any problem gets 30 days to sort out.
